David is Director of Hydrozone Pty Ltd. He has worked in irrigation for 20 years and is passionate about making better use of our scarce water resources.
David has qualifications in Rural Science and Financial Management from University of New England. In the 90's he worked with the South Australian Department of Agriculture, including a period with the Irrigated Crop Management Service at Loxton. This team developed and commercialised rigorous approaches to irrigated soils, system testing and design and scheduling which are widely used and respected throughout Australia.
He has experience in many types of irrigation from drip irrigation in vegetables in North Queensland, large scale spray irrigated cropping in Western NSW, sprinklers in the orchards of South Australia's Riverland and pasture irrigation in the Goulburn Valley.
David also knows the unique challenges of managing urban water and is excited by the benefits offered by sensible stormwater harvesting, drip irrigated turf, GPS mapping and moisture sensor technologies.
David owns an irrigated farm on the Broken River near Shepparton, Victoria. From there and in Melbourne he handles field work and report preparation along with the research and development work required to keep Hydrozone at the leading edge of water management for urban irrigators.
David is a member of the Irrigation Association of Australia and the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology.
